Liberty volleyball third-year head coach Trevor Johnson and his staff have announced the addition of Madison Blane to the team's 2021 fall roster. Blane, a native of Montgomery, Texas, has signed to attend Liberty at the beginning of the 2021-22 academic year.
Blane's signing gives Liberty nine incoming freshmen for the 2021-22 school year. The addition of Grace Allread, Lindsey Hardesty, Madison Johnson, Jillian Kater, Leah Kodat, Kate Phillips, Kennedi Sutter and Taylor Thomas was announced during the early signing period in November.
"We are very excited about the incoming class of 2021!" Johnson said. "We have young ladies coming from all over the country, from California to Delaware. God has brought together a wonderful group who will impact people for Christ through the sport of volleyball. Within this class, I think we have future CEO's and great leaders in their respective fields of endeavor. They all had opportunities to attend other larger universities, but they can see God moving within our program and our university. Flames Nation, you will be excited to see them compete in the fall!"
Madison Blane (MB, 6-2, Montgomery, Texas/Lake Creek High School)
Madison Blane comes to Liberty as a standout middle blocker from Lake Creek High School in Texas. A two-year starter at Lake Creek, she totaled 196 career blocks, including 43 solo blocks. As a senior, she was named to the TGCA 5A All-State team alongside fellow Liberty signee Taylor Thomas, posting the highest hitting percentage (.468) of any player in District 20-5A. Blane was also voted to the 2020 GHVCA 5A Postseason Team after leading her team to a district title. Her senior season honors also include GHVCA All-Academic Team. During her junior year, she led her team with 124 blocks and earned Academic All-District honors.
"We are thrilled to be adding Madison Blane to our already stellar recruiting class! She will add depth to our middle blocker position group. She's a tremendous athlete who has untapped potential! What stood out to me in the recruiting process was her work ethic to be great at whatever she does! She's a great young woman with high character, who will impact our program both on and off the court!"
