
No. 10 TCU Downs Liberty in Game 1 of Saturday's Doubleheader

The No. 10 TCU Horned Frogs turned back the Liberty Flames 9-2 in game one of a doubleheader, Saturday afternoon at Lupton Stadium.
The Horned Frogs plated four runs in the second inning and never looked back. Left fielder Edwin Nunez had a game-high three hits, drove in two runs and scored a run.
For the second consecutive game, TCU's pitching held Liberty in check. Starter Russell Smith and reliever Charles King combined to hold the Flames to two runs on eight hits.
Liberty catcher Gray Betts and left fielder Aaron Anderson had two hits apiece. Flames second baseman Will Wagner hit a solo home run in the eighth.
The Flames fall to 2-4 on the season. The Horn Frogs move to 4-2.
