
Campbell Tops Liberty, Saturday

The Campbell Camels jumped out to a big lead early and cruised to a 17-3 victory over the Liberty Flames, Saturday afternoon at Jim Perry Stadium.
The Camels ran out to a 12-3 advantage through the first three innings to back left-hander Ryan Chasse, who scattered five hits over the first five innings to record the victory.
Liberty shortstop Cam Locklear belted a two-run home run, his first of the season, in the third inning.
Campbell evens its record at 1-1 on the season. Liberty drops to 1-1, after defeating the Camels 4-1 on Friday.

Turning Point
Trailing 3-0 in the top of the second, Liberty loaded the bases with two out. Center fielder Jaylen Guy walked, but Chasse was able to get designated hitter Gray Betts to pop out to the shortstop to end the Flames threat.

- The Campbell win evens the season-opening series at 1-1. Liberty won 4-1, last night.
- Liberty hit six batters in the game. It is the first time since April 26, 2016 that the Flames have hit more than five batters in a game.
