
Johnson Tosses Perfect Game in 13-0 Win Over Texas Southern

Liberty junior Megan Johnson pitched the fifth perfect game in program history during a 13-0, five-inning victory over Texas Southern on Friday at McCombs Field.
The Lady Flames (8-11) earned their seventh win in a row, their second consecutive shutout. Texas Southern fell to 8-11 on the season including 1-1 at the Longhorn Invitational.
Johnson became the first Lady Flames since Julia DiMartino against Princeton on Feb. 24, 2019 to pitch a perfect game. She needed just 39 pitches to retire all 15 batters she faced. Madison Via made a running catch in right for the final out to seal the perfect game.

- Liberty recorded 16 hits, including 15 singles and one double, stealing a season-high five bases. The Tigers registered three errors. The Lady Flames tied a program single-game record with two sacrifice flies.
- Megan Johnson (4-3) tossed her second straight shutout, running her consecutive scoreless innings streak to 13 2/3 innings. She totaled three strikeouts.
- Jazmine Gendorf (2-3) drew the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits in two innings pitched before yielding to relievers Malea Rodriguez and Chelsea Baxter.
- Savannah Channell went 3-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scores, while Amber Bishop batted 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Kara Canetto went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Autumn Bishop and Madison Via both went 2-for-2.
