Liberty claimed a pair of home victories Friday and Saturday, downing Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern in conference action, giving the Lady Flames (11-11) a 6-1 Big South record.
The Lady Flames remain tied with Winthrop atop the Big South standings, and the two teams will face off Friday at 7 p.m. at Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, S.C. Liberty then heads to Clinton, S.C. to play against Presbyterian College.
LibertyFlames.com's Nick Pierce caught up with head coach Shane Pinder, along with freshman middle blocker Melissa Racz, for a pair of interviews.
Pierce spoke with Racz, discussing her transition to collegiate volleyball, along with highlights from her first season. Racz set a career high with 10 kills Friday versus Coastal Carolina, clinching the contest with a kill on match point. She ranks third on the team in total blocks this season.
Coach Pinder noted this past week's matches and provided a look toward the upcoming matches in South Carolina.
