
Nyholt Named to Big South All-Tournament Team

Liberty goalkeeper Ashley Nyholt has been named to the 2009 Big South Women's Soccer Championship All-Tournament Team, the league announced Sunday.
The No. 1 seed Lady Flames failed to advance on penalty kicks against No. 8 Winthrop in the first round. The Lady Eagles marched to the finals before falling to tournament champion High Point.
In the first-round matchup, the game remained scoreless after two overtime periods, sending the match to penalty kicks. Nyholt, who made five saves during regulation, stopped three penalty kicks during the shootout.
Nyholt, who became the starting goalkeeper with three games remaining in the regular season, recorded 26 saves over five games, and recorded four shutouts.
