LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty women's soccer and head coach Lang Wedemeyer have revealed their Conference USA title-defending 2026 schedule. The Lady Flames open their Fall from Osborne Stadium, hosting East Carolina on Aug. 13.
The Lady Flames look to defend a conference title for the first time since defending the Big South Championship in 2016.
Newark, Del., and the Delaware Blue Hens will host the 2026 Conference USA Women's Soccer Championship. The tournament will be held Nov. 8-13, with the winner receiving an automatic bid into the 2026 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. The Lady Flames secured three triumphs, ultimately topping Missouri State 3-0 to claim their second CUSA title in three seasons last November.
The Lady Flames' 2026 schedule includes three Power Four programs in Virginia (Aug. 16), Virginia Tech (Aug. 20) and Pittsburgh (Aug. 27). Virginia currently represents Liberty's toughest test as a No. 1 seed in last season's NCAA Championship.
Against their 2026 opponents that Liberty faced last season, the team earned a 10-1-3 record, the only loss came at home against then No. 17 Virginia.
Liberty is set to face seven in-state opponents next season. In its first road stretch, it will travel to Virginia, Virginia Tech and VCU (Aug. 23). The Lady Flames will also travel to face William & Mary (Sept. 3) before three consecutive home meetings against George Mason (Sept. 6), James Madison (Sept. 10) and Old Dominion (Sept. 13) to close its non-conference schedule.
The Lady Flames open conference play at home against Western Kentucky on Sept. 26. They have a perfect 4-0 record against the Bearkats, including two triumphs at home last season. The team hits the road for its first of two trips, taking on Middle Tennessee (Oct. 1) and New Mexico State (Oct. 4). The Lady Flames host a pair, welcoming FIU (Oct. 11) and hosting Delaware on Oct. 22. will host a CUSA title game rematch against Missouri State on Oct. 18. Liberty's final road games will be at Kennesaw State (Oct. 22) and Jacksonville State (Oct. 25) before they conclude the regular season hosting a 2025 CUSA Final rematch against Missouri State on Nov. 1.
Liberty owns an overall 17-3-5 record across three seasons in CUSA. The Lady Flames still seek their first win against Western Kentucky (0-1-1).
The 2025 schedule consists of nine home games, including a stretch of four straight home matchups from Sept. 6 to Sept. 27. The Lady Flames hit the road for nine tilts as the visiting team, headlined by four consecutive non-conference games in the early portion of the season (Aug. 16-Aug. 27).
