Liberty head golf coach Jeff Thomas announced that Max McKay has signed a national letter of intent for the 2009-10 academic year.
"I am very excited to have Max coming to Liberty," said Thomas. "He is a very talented golfer who has proven himself on and off the golf course. Max is an excellent student, solid Christian and hard worker. He is the type of athlete who can help us win conference championships and compete at the national level."

The golf signee shot an even par (144) to finish third at the 2008 Florida High School 2A Boys final at the Providence Golf Club in Davenport, Fla., while helping his Bartram Trail High School squad finish in first place in the 2A Boys state final.
McKay is fully exempt on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Tour with a fifth-place finish at the First American Title Junior Classic at Avila Country Club in Tampa, Fla.
McKay currently has a 4.39 GPA and is applying for the Liberty Honor Program.
