McKoy Shoots 4-Under Par At The 46th North Carolina Amateur Championship

Liberty golfer Parker McKoy finished tied for 15th after shooting a four-under par at the 46th North Carolina Amateur Championship at the Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro.
McKoy finished the four-round tournament on Sunday with a one-under par (70) at the 71-par course. For the tournament, McKoy shot a 280 (72-70-68-70) placing him in a four-way tie for 15th. McKoy finished eight strokes off champion Jerry Richardson of Burlington, N.C. Richardson, who completed his collegiate eligibility at North Carolina State this past spring, sank a six-foot birdie putt to beat Cliff Benson of Raleigh and Barden Barry of Kinston in a playoff after the trio tied with 272 totals.
With his finish, McKoy becomes exempt into the 2008 North Carolina Amateur Championship, which is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
