Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
Liberty encompasses everything I wanted out of my college experience. Immediately upon my arrival to campus, I knew this place had something special to offer. Playing volleyball for Liberty has allowed me the opportunity to compete at the highest level while getting to openly compete for something greater than myself. The University is unique in that there are so many opportunities to grow in your walk with the Lord, and truly everything is centered around Christ. There is no place like Liberty.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
For pregame, I usually drink an iced matcha latte! It gives me the perfect boost of caffeine without feeling shaky.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My Nenaw. She is such a prayer warrior and loves her family so well. The fruit of her life reflects her fervent pursuit of the Lord. She is the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman, and she inspires me daily to becoming even half the woman which she is.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
Winning the ASUN tournament in Spring 2021 and going to the NCAA tournament.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
I was given #10 when I came to Liberty and stuck with it.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
Gavin Bacus, my younger brother, runs track at Lipscomb University. Greg Bacus, my father, played soccer for Midwestern State and West Texas A&M.

Dinner! I have really enjoyed meal prepping and experimenting with new recipes from different cookbooks. My favorite dinner is salmon with broccoli and rice.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
Instagram is the first app I’m on when I wake up.
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
A few of my favorite things to do outside of volleyball are, coffee shop hopping, thrifting, journaling, reading, and discovering new music.
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
Belle and Henry, both golden retrievers!
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
