Former Liberty women's basketball and track & field athlete Stephanie Walker, the starting tailback for the Baltimore Burn, has been honored as a 2009 first-team Women's Football Alliance (WFA) All-American.
Walker, a 2006 Liberty graduate, was one of two first-team tailbacks recognized in the National Conference, joining Marirose Roach of the Philadelphia Liberty Belles. Walker finished fourth in the 34-team WFA with 1,026 rushing yards this season. She averaged 13.2 yards per carry and scored 12 touchdowns, helping the Burn go 5-3 and tie for second place in the Northeast Division.
