Shiery Earns CUSA Winter Spirit of Service Award

LYNCHBURG, Va. – After completing more than 250 community service hours, Liberty women's basketball senior Caroline Shiery has earned a CUSA Winter Spirit of Service Award.
The award honors student-athletes with significant community service endeavors, good academic standing and participation in their sport. The Spirit of Service Award is presented three times throughout the season, and recipients are nominated by their institutions.
Shiery's extensive work in the community includes Dollar Makes a Difference, Trick or Treat so Others Can Eat, Hop on Pop, Learn Like Liberty, Literacy Pep Rally, Amazing Mile, Bingo at Runk and Pratt, ASPIRE Class, Hawaiian mission trip outreach, Haiti mission trip, Israel mission trip and Liberty Women's Basketball kids clinics.
Shiery, who hails from Harrisburg, Pa., made 22 appearances during her four seasons with the Lady Flames (2022-23 to present), serving as a team captain this past year.
A strategic communications major with a 3.12 GPA, Shiery has made three consecutive appearances on the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll after making the ASUN Academic Honor Roll as a freshman.
