
Liberty Tops Jax State 4-2 to Take Series

Hvidsten gave Liberty a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning with his second home run of the season. The catcher was the only hitter in the game with two hits.
Center fielder Josh Campos put the Flames in front temporarily at 2-1 in the third inning by blasting a two-run home run off the scoreboard in left-center field, his team-leading sixth.
Liberty starting pitcher Bradley Zayac allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits over the first six innings to run his record to 5-0 on the year.
Relievers Tyler August and Cooper Harrington followed with three shutdown innings to seal the win.
Liberty wins the final two games of the series to hand Jax State their first conference loss of the season. The Flames move to 11-4 in CUSA and 25-10 overall. The Gamecocks drop to 13-2 in conference play and 29-8 overall.
