
Liberty Lacrosse Celebrates Senior Day, Hosting Kennesaw State

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Lacrosse team (4-9, 2-2 ASUN) will recognize 12 members of its departing senior class before its contest hosting Kennesaw State (7-7) on Saturday at 11 a.m. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Lady Flames look to jump back into Atlantic Sun play after falling in two non-conference matchups. Liberty fell 9-8 in 2OT at USF and was upended 21-7 hosting No. 19 Notre Dame.
Prior to the game, Liberty will recognize the following members of its 2026 senior class: Karlie Hickson, Kendall Nye, Riley Phillips, Kate Troutman, Kendall Coss, Katie Colavito, Amelia Loughery, Ava Rajala, Jenna Burrow, Delaney Donohue, Allie Rhoades and Madeleine Klunder.

After the contest against Notre Dame on Monday, goalkeeper Rachel Hines was tabbed the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week. The junior recorded 14 saves in the 9-8 2OT defeat at USF.

- Freshman Sophia Nesci leads Liberty with 30 goals and 45 points (second with 15 assists). The Freshman has scored in all but one game this season, including a streak of six straight contests tallying multiple goals (Feb. 28-March 26).
- The Syracuse, N.Y. native is currently on pace (3.46 ppg) to break Katy Pridemore's freshman scoring record, which she set in 2015 (52g, 68p, 3.4 ppg). She currently ranks second in program history among freshmen with 45 points and third with 30 goals.
- Hines ranks No. 13 in the country with 8.92 saves per game and No. 14 nationally with 116 saves this season. She carries season-long totals of a 13.02 goals-against average and a .411 save percentage on 371 shots faced.
- Katie Colavitio has impressed on all three levels of the field. She leads the team with 27 caused turnovers and 30 ground balls, is second on the team with 28 goals, and she is third on the squad with 24 draw controls.
- Liberty leads the country with 15.92 caused turnovers per game. The team ranks No. 4 nationally with 20.15 ground balls per game.
- Colavito (109) and Klunder (106) are nearing becoming second and third in Liberty program history in career caused turnovers. Carly White (108, 2017-21) currently ranks slots behind the program leader, Brianna McCaffrey (147, 2016-19).
- Liberty has seen split deployment in the draw circle this season. Nina Gray paces the team with 43 draws.
- Midfielder Ava Menna (42 draw controls) ranks No. 3 in program history with 228 career draw controls. She needs six to pass Brianna McCaffrey (233, 2016-19) for second.
- Klunder currently ranks fifth in program history with 150 ground balls. She needs three to pass Katherine Widrick (152, 2016-19) for fourth and six to succeed Chloe McIntosh (155, 2010-13).
- Olivia Young (24g, 13a) has scored in seven consecutive contests.
