LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty senior Colin Porter earned recognition on the 2025-26 Conference USA Men's Basketball All-Academic team, announced on Thursday afternoon by the league office.
Porter is one of only five players on the listing and has received the honor three straight years now. He is also the only player in program history to make the CUSA All-Academic team three times. Nominees must have a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) or better, be a regular participant for the team and be at least a sophomore by class standing. The CUSA All-Academic team was voted on by academic advisors from the league's 12 institutions.
Porter earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in May 2025 and is currently pursuing a certificate in management & leadership while maintaining a 3.84 GPA. The senior has racked up several academic accolades in his time as a Flame, including: two-time College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team®, two-time CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll, CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal and NABC Honors Court.
On the court, Porter has enjoyed a strong senior season, averaging 11.8 points (No. 3 on team), 3.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game in 27 appearances (all starts). Porter ranks sixth in program history in career assists (505) and 26th in scoring with 1,172 points. The guard also ranks eighth among active Division I players in career assist/turnover ratio (2.64).
Porter, a CUSA Preseason All-Conference team selection, has three 20-point games this year, including a pair of 23-point performances against Charleston (Nov. 7) and at Delaware (Feb. 4).
Porter and CUSA outright regular season champion Liberty (24-5, 16-2 CUSA) will host Louisiana Tech (16-13, 9-9 CUSA) tonight at 7 p.m. in their second-to-last-regular season contest.
