LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames men's basketball team and head coach Ritchie McKay have announced the signing of Sean Register Jr. for the 2026-27 season.
Register Jr. is a 6-7 forward from Cleveland, Ohio who will be transferring from Eastern Florida State.
"He's one of those guys that after you watch the game, you think that guy had a pretty good night. You look at the stat sheet, and he stuffed it with 26 points, 14 rebounds and a handful of assists," McKay said. "He plays hard and wants what's best for the team. I think he's going to have an immediate impact on our program."
Register Jr. , a 2026 NJCAA Division I All-America first team selection, averaged 24.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in his one season with the Titans. He shot 66.3 percent from the field, 40.6 percent from three and 73.8 percent from the free throw line. Register Jr. earned Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Citrus Conference Player of the Year honors and was tabbed to the Division I All-FCSAA Men's Basketball team.
Register Jr.'s stellar freshman campaign saw him set the program record for points in a season with 769 while ranking third in the nation at the junior college level. Register Jr. earned FCSAA Division I Player of the Week three times and the national player of the week award on two occasions. He also had 12 double-doubles and three games with 30-plus points.
Register Jr. will be the second Eastern Florida State player on the Flames in three seasons, joining Owen Aquino. Aquino played for Liberty during the 2024-25 season and helped the Flames to a CUSA outright regular season title and tournament crown.
Register Jr. is the fourth commitment for the Flames in this year's transfer portal, along with brothers Cobi and Cooper Campbell (Troy) and Dillon Claussen (Washburn).
