- Live Stats
- Liberty (8-7, 2-2 CUSA) will make its first-ever visit to CUSA newcomer Delaware (6-10, 0-4 CUSA) for its lone contest of the week.
- The Lady Flames are looking to bounce back from consecutive home losses and avoid their first-ever three-game CUSA losing streak. Liberty is 3-1 in road games this year, having won each of its last three road contests.
- Delaware won the only previous meeting with Liberty by a 62-56 count on Nov. 23, 2001 on day one of the UNCG Marriott Classic in Greensboro, N.C. Current Liberty assistant Katie (Feenstra) Mattera was a freshman on that Lady Flames squad but did not play due to injury.
- Avery Mills will return to the state where she lived until age 10 (hometown Milford). She leads the Lady Flames in scoring with 15.9 ppg (21.8 ppg in road games) and ranks No. 8 nationally with 3.20 made triples per contest.
- Emmy Stout, Mills' high school teammate, is coming off her third 20-point outing this season during Sunday's nationally televised 86-72 setback to LA Tech. Stout (14.3 ppg) has more than doubled her freshman year scoring average of 7.1 ppg.
- Liberty and Delaware will square off for the first time in 25 years on Saturday and for the first time as CUSA foes.Â
- The Fightin' Blue Hens are 0-4 to begin their inaugural season of CUSA play with two of the losses coming in overtime. When Liberty joined CUSA in 2023-24, the Lady Flames started out 0-2 and lost three of their first four CUSA tilts.
- Delaware is the closest CUSA squad to Liberty geographically (about 275 miles away) and has been paired with the Flames as a travel partner. As such, the Blue Hens and Lady Flames have faced the same CUSA foes thus far (road games at New Mexico State and UTEP and home contests against Sam Houston and Louisiana Tech).Â
- Delaware is just 2-5 at the Bob Carpenter Center this year and has lost four straight home games since a Nov. 30 victory over Towson. Meanwhile, Liberty is 3-1 in road games and has won three consecutive road contests since dropping its road opener at James Madison on Nov. 12.
- Delaware is only Liberty's third opponent this season which has entered the game with a losing record. The Lady Flames previously defeated Manhattan and New Mexico State.
- Delaware is one of two states Liberty is visiting for the first time in program history this season. The Lady Flames played their first two contests in Hawai'i on Dec. 19 & 20.
- Saturday will mark Liberty's first-ever game in Delaware, but leading scorer Avery Mills is quite familiar with The First State.
- Mills and her family lived in Milford, Del. (about 65 miles south of Newark) for the first 10 years of her life. A sizeable group of friends and family is expected to attend Saturday's game.
- Liberty has actually played better on the road (3-1 record) than it has at home (3-4) thus far in 2025-26, bringing a three-game road winning streak to Delaware.
- The streak began with a Dec. 7 victory at A-10 co-leader George Mason and continued with CUSA triumphs at New Mexico State (Jan. 2) and UTEP (Jan. 4).
- Avery Mills has led the way, averaging 21.8 ppg in four road contests this season while making 17 triples at a 58.6 percent clip.Â
- Road teams are 12-10 in CUSA action this season, entering Thursday's slate of games.
- Liberty has been successful during its first three years of CUSA membership, headlined by its regular-season and tournament titles in 2024-25.
- The Lady Flames are 34-10 versus CUSA foes over the last three seasons, including 29-9 in conference play, 5-1 in the CUSA Championship, 15-4 at home and 14-5 on the road.
- Liberty has faced three CUSA foes without suffering a loss over the past three years, including Kennesaw State (2-0), New Mexico State (6-0) and UTEP (5-0).Â
- The Lady Flames got off to their first 2-0 conference start as a CUSA member this season.
- Liberty has lost consecutive CUSA games for the first time since dropping its first two contests as a conference member on Jan. 6 (WKU) and Jan. 10, 2024 (Jax State). The Lady Flames have never dropped three consecutive CUSA outings.
