Lady Flames Take On UTEP, New Mexico in Pair of CUSA Road Games

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Looking to solidify its status as Conference USA favorites, Liberty (5-3-3, 0-0-1 CUSA) sets off for two road games at UTEP (3-6-1, 0-1 CUSA) on Thursday and at New Mexico State (1-9-1, 0-0-1 CUSA).

Thursday's game is set for 9 p.m. ET/7 p.m. MT, while Sunday's contest is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET/1 p.m. MT. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Liberty opened the CUSA season with a scoreless draw against league newcomer Missouri State. The Lady Flames begin a stretch of three road games beginning this week before taking on the reigning champions, FIU, on Oct. 5.

Liberty owns an unbeaten 3-0-1 record on the road this season. The Lady Flames' previous road matchup was a 1-0 triumph at Old Dominion on Sept. 4.
The Lady Flames are 2-0 all-time against UTEP and 3-1 all-time against New Mexico State.
Liberty has met the Aggies twice in both initial seasons since joining CUSA. The Lady Flames topped New Mexico State 2-1 for the 2023 CUSA Championship title and met the rival in the semifinal round of the 2024 CUSA Championship, walking away with a 1-0 triumph.
The Lady Flames faced four ranked opponents in their non-conference schedules, including No. 17 Virginia, No. 24 Virginia Tech, No. 9 Penn State and No. 21 Kansas. Liberty has also faced three foes that were reigning conference champions in East Carolina, James Madison and Missouri State.
Forward Ivy Garner leads the team with six goals and 14 points (two assists). Halle Engle paces the team and leads CUSA with four assists.
Goalkeeper Peyton Huber (0-1-1) made her first start of the season last Friday. She has given up a single goal in 180 minutes of action, recording six saves.
Liberty has outscored its opponents 18-13 this season, allowing 1.18 goals per game.
The Lady Flames lead CUSA in total goals (18), assists (21), points (57), shots per game (13.64), shots on goal per game (6.64) and assists per game (1.91).
