
Liberty, Missouri State Play to Scoreless Draw to Open Conference Play

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty (5-3-3) and Missouri State (3-5-2) were unable to declare a winner, playing to a scoreless draw on Friday afternoon.
The matchup was the first ever between the two programs. The contest was also the first Conference USA matchup for the Bears after joining the league this summer.
Missouri State secured the majority of high-level scoring chances while Liberty outshot the Bears 13-10. Two Missouri State shots deflected off the crossbar, one in each half.
Both programs picked up a result in initial CUSA action. The Lady Flames earned a share of the CUSA regular season title last season.
The contest marked the final home game in a stretch of five consecutive matchups at Osborne Stadium. The Lady Flames went 2-2-1 across the stretch.
