
Liberty Wraps Non-Conference Action, Welcomes UNCG and No. 21 Kansas This Week

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Looking to finish non-conference play on a high note, the Liberty Lady Flames (4-2-2) will host UNCG (1-6) on Thursday before welcoming No. 21 Kansas (5-0-2) on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, while Sunday is scheduled for a noon start. Sunday's contest against No. 21 Kansas will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The team will honor four members of its senior class in a pre-game ceremony. Liberty will recognize Megan Hagan, forward Ivy Garner and defenders Elise Graf and Kayla Magee, for their contributions to the program.
The Lady Flames are coming off a 1-1 week at home with a 4-1 victory over Queens on Thursday and falling to No. 9 Penn State 3-1 on Sunday.
Liberty looks to improve on a 1-2-1 home record. Outside of Queens, Liberty's other opponents have all been ranked, including No. 17 Virginia (2-0 loss), No. 24 Virginia Tech (1-1 draw) and No. 9 Penn State. Last season, Liberty went 7-1-1 at Osborne Stadium.
The Lady Flames will be meeting Kansas for the first time in program history. Liberty seeks to improve on a 4-7 all-time record against UNCG. The Spartans held the Lady Flames to a scoreless draw at home last season.

- Having only played one other Big 12 program, Liberty is currently unbeaten against the Big 12 Conference, with two contests against West Virginia. The Lady Flames topped the Mountaineers 3-1 at home in 2023 and played to a 1-1 draw on the road last season.
- The Lady Flames are 1-16-1 all-time against ranked opponents in the regular season. The win and the draw results came against Virginia Tech with a 1-1 draw this season and a 2-1 road victory in 2023
- Liberty is in the midst of a stretch of five consecutive home games. They are currently 1-1 with a contest against Missouri State to open conference play on Sept. 19.
- Ivy Garner paces the team with three goals this season. With 60 career points (21g, 18a), she currently ranks fourth in program history.
- Ivy Garner (3g, 1a) and Halle Engle (2g, 3a) share the team lead in points.
- Goalkeeper Ainsley Leja (2-2-2) has made all but one start this season. The redshirt senior sports a 1.27 goals-against average (GAA) and a 0.680 save percentage on 68 shots faced.
