
Bozzuto, Francis Compete at Toyota Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Liberty's Aly Bozzuto and Malia Francis both competed well at the 2025 Toyota National Championships, Tuesday through Saturday at IU Natatorium.
Liberty Results
• Malia Francis – 200 backstroke (2:14.81) – 39th place overall
• Aly Bozzuto – 50 breaststroke (32.91) – 35th place overall
• Aly Bozzuto – 100 breaststroke (1:11.82) – 40th place overall
• Aly Bozzuto – 50 freestyle (26.62) – 8th place in D Final (qualified in 26.46)
Notable
• The Toyota National Championships served as trials to select Team USA for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, which will be held in Singapore this summer.
• Bozzuto earned a finals swim on the last day of the meet, earning a spot in the D Final in the 50-meter freestyle with a prelims time of 26.46. She swam 26.62 at night, finishing eighth in the D Final.
• On Wednesday, Francis finished 39th overall in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:14.81. It would have taken 2:12.80 to make the C Final.
• Bozzuto placed 35th overall in 50-meter breaststroke qualifying on Thursday, swimming 32.91. It took 32.50 to earn a spot in Thursday's C Final.
• During Friday's 100 breaststroke prelims, Bozzuto placed 40th in 1:11.82, with 1:10.67 making the C Final.
Historically Speaking
• This is the 15th year in a row in which the Lady Flames have had at least one swimmer compete at the national or international level. Last year, Francis and Heather Gardner competed in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, while Kamryn Cannings contested the Canadian Swimming Trials.
