LYNCHBURG, Va. – Reigning CUSA champion Liberty's 2025-26 non-conference women's basketball schedule features a high-powered home slate, with Duke, East Carolina and Richmond set to visit Liberty Arena.
The Blue Devils and Spiders, both of whom won NCAA Tournament games in March, are two of four non-conference foes who racked up 27 or more victories in 2024-25. That list also includes Commonwealth foes George Mason and James Madison, two of the Lady Flames' early-season road tests.
Marquee Matchup
Duke will play in Lynchburg for the second year in a row on Nov. 16, marking the Lady Flames' third home game within the season's first 13 days (also Nov. 4 vs. Frostburg State and Nov. 7 vs. East Carolina). Liberty battled the Blue Devils during an 83-67 setback a year ago, a contest which attracted a Liberty Arena women's basketball-record 2,845 fans.
Both teams went on to enjoy successful seasons. Liberty went 26-7 and made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018, while Duke posted a 29-8 record on its way to the NCAA Elite Eight.
Commonwealth Clashes
Liberty will square off against a trio of talented in-state foes, including a home clash with Richmond (Dec. 13) and visits to James Madison (Nov. 12) and George Mason (Dec. 7).
Richmond (28-7) and George Mason (27-6) both played in the NCAA Tournament last season, while James Madison (30-6) took part in the WBIT.
Tournament Time
Liberty will compete in a pair of regular-season tournaments, including the Navy Classic (Nov. 29-30 in Annapolis, Md.) and the Maui Classic (Dec. 19-20 in Makawao, Hawaii).
While the Lady Flames will make their fourth Navy Classic appearance all-time, the Maui Classic will mark the team's first-ever visit to Hawaii.
Liberty's matchups for both tournaments will be announced at a later date.
