Following a superb senior season, Liberty outfielder Rachel Roupe has been named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-America third team honoree.
Roupe, a native of Sharpsburg, is the first Liberty player all-time to be named an NFCA Division I All-American.
A total of 54 players received D1Softball All-American honors, including 18 each on first, second and third teams, respectively. Student-athletes from 33 different institutions have been voted to one of three 2025 NFCA Division I All-America teams, the Association announced on Wednesday afternoon during its annual press conference at the Women's College World Series (WCWS).
Prior to Roupe's honor today, the last time Conference USA placed players on the NFCA Division I All-America team was 2022 (Bailey Vannoy, Charlotte – 2nd Team; Mya Stevenson, Marshall – 3rd Team).Â
Previously this month, Roupe was named to the Softball America All-America Second Team and D1Softball All-America Second Team.Â
The postseason honors continue for Roupe, who was named the 2025 CUSA Player of the Year while also appearing on the CUSA All-Conference first team, NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region first team and CUSA All-Academic Team.
A four-time all-conference outfielder, 2025 CUSA Player of the Year Rachel Roupe has saved her best season for last. Roupe batted .390 for the season while leading all CUSA players with 19 doubles, 23 homers and 73 RBI. She is tied for seventh in NCAA Division I softball in homers (23), 11th in RBI (73), fifth in total bases (166) and 11th in doubles (19). In conference play, Roupe led all CUSA hitters in batting average (.486), slugging percentage (1.149), OPS (1.745), runs (27), home runs (13) and RBI (39). This year, Roupe became the first player to be named CUSA Softball Player of the Week five times in a single season.
Roupe helped the Lady Flames make history by earning their first-ever Super Regional berth. Liberty won two out of three games against No. 1 Texas A&M, and her three-run homer in the sixth inning of Sunday's winner-take-all final proved to be the difference. In two games against the top-ranked Aggies on May 18, Roupe went a combined 5-for-9 with three homers, nine RBI and three runs scored.
The Lady Flames finished the season with a 50-15 record, setting a new program record for single-season victories. Liberty won both the Conference USA regular-season and tournament titles for the second year in a row. The team made history at the 2025 NCAA Bryan-College Station Regional, winning two out of three games against No. 1 Texas A&M to earn its first-ever Super Regional appearance. The Lady Flames were the first team in the Super Regional era to knock out the No. 1 national seed in the Regional round.
