Liberty Hosts FIU for Regular-Season Finale

No. 25 Liberty (41-11, 20-3 CUSA), the CUSA regular-season champion, welcomes FIU (29-19-1, 11-12-1) to Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium, Friday through Sunday to end the regular season.

- The Lady Flames wrapped up their second straight Conference USA regular-season title, sweeping second-place Louisiana Tech last weekend. Liberty then fell at No. 24 Virginia, 5-3, Wednesday.
- The Panthers enter the weekend in seventh place in CUSA standings, with the top six teams qualifying for the CUSA Softball Championship.
- Liberty is ranked No. 25 in the Softball America Top 25 this week, while appearing among "others receiving votes" in the three remaining national polls. The Lady Flames also bring an RPI of 28 and a very strong postseason resume along with them.
- FIU ranks 10th nationally with 119 stolen bases, while Liberty is 14th with 104. This weekend's matchup features CUSA steals leader KK Madrey of Liberty (45) and second place, FIU's Kally Meredith (39). No other CUSA player has over 20 stolen bases this season.
- Individually, Rachel Roupe is tied for 14th in NCAA Division I with 18 homers, 11th in total bases (133) and ninth in doubles (18), while KK Madrey is third with 45 steals. Elena Escobar is tied for 25th nationally with 18 wins.

KK Madrey hits .411 with a CUSA-leading 45 stolen bases. 2025 CUSA Preseason Player of the Year Rachel Roupe (.378) leads the CUSA with 18 doubles, 18 homers (tied) and 59 RBI. Oregon State transfers Savanah Whatley (.354) and Paige Doerr (.356) provide offensive punch, with Whatley posting Liberty's first four-hit game of the year on Saturday at LA Tech. Savannah Woodard (.333, 7 HR, 36 RBI) has thrived in the leadoff spot. Brynn McManus (.321, 13 2B, 6 HR, 35 RBI) and Brooke Roberts (.286, 3 HR, 31 RBI) are both strong run producers.
- 2024 NFCA All-Region second team pitcher Elena Escobar is 18-3 with a 2.17 ERA overall and four shutouts, including a stellar 11-0 record and 1.44 ERA in CUSA play. Escobar has posted at least one win in every Conference USA series this season. Kaylan Yoder (8-4, 2.54) leads CUSA in opponents batting average overall (.204). Paige Bachman is 10-3 with a 2.84 ERA overall and went 1-0 with a save and a 1.62 ERA in the Louisiana Tech series.
