Turning Point
- Virginia tied the game at 2-2 on a two-out RBI single by Kelsey Hackett. The Cavaliers went ahead in the top of the seventh when Jade Hylton went deep for a go-ahead solo homer.
- With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Eden Bigham hit back-to-back batters in Rachel Roupe and pinch hitter Alyssa Henault. Roberts then lashed a double into the left-center gap, scoring pinch runner Aubry Norris and Henault with the tying and winning runs, respectively.
- Virginia outhit Liberty for the game, 7-6, with the Cavaliers committing one error. The guests left nine runners on base, compared to seven stranded by the Lady Flames.
- Paige Bachman (8-1) earned the win in relief, allowing one hit and walking one in one inning. Starter Elena Escobar yielded three runs on six hits, walking three and fanning eight in six innings pitched.
- Bigham (10-7) drew the loss, yielding three runs (two earned) on four hits, with three walks, two hit batters and one strikeout in 4 1/3 innings of relief.
- Roberts went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored. Savannah Woodard batted 2-for-4, extending her hitting streak to a career-best 11 games. Rachel Craine went 1-for-1 with a homer, sacrifice fly, two RBI and one run scored, while Paige Doerr (1-for-2) doubled.
- Sarah Coon went 2-for-2 for Virginia, while Jade Hylton and Bella Cabral both homered.
- Virginia leads Liberty 49-28 in the all-time series, with the Lady Flames winning each of the last two meetings.
