
Liberty Set for Weekend Home Series with Middle Tennessee

Due to inclement weather in the Lynchburg area, this weekend's series between Liberty and Middle Tennessee has been altered. Conference USA leader, No. 20 Liberty (31-7, 11-0) welcomes Middle Tennessee (17-19, 6-6) to Lynchburg for a three-game CUSA series, Friday (1 p.m.) and Saturday (2 p.m. doubleheader).Â

- This weekend's series features the CUSA Tournament champions from the last two seasons, as Middle Tennessee won in 2023 and the Lady Flames claimed the crown last year.
- The Lady Flames had an eight-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday at No. 11 Virginia Tech.

- Individually, Rachel Roupe is tied for eighth in NCAA Division I with 15 homers and sixth with 101 total bases, while KK Madrey is sixth with 29 steals. Elena Escobar is tied for 10th nationally with four shutouts, while Kaylan Yoder's 3.62 hits allowed per seven innings rank fifth.
- Seven out of Liberty's nine regular starters bat .300 or better. KK Madrey hits .435 with a CUSA-leading 29 stolen bases, while Savanah Whatley bats .389. 2025 CUSA Preseason Player of the Year Rachel Roupe (.368) has hit 11 doubles, 15 homers and leads the CUSA with 45 RBI. Savannah Woodard (.331) is second on the team in homers (6) and RBI (29). Brooke Roberts (.333, 2 HR) and Brynn McManus (.321, 4 HR) have both driven in 24 runs, while Paige Doerr bats .343. Freshman Alexia Carrasquillo bats .414 with four homers and 14 RBI in 11 games played.
- 2024 NFCA All-Region second team pitcher Elena Escobar is 13-3 with a 1.98 ERA overall and four shutouts, including a stellar 6-0 record and 0.65 ERA in CUSA play. Four different Lady Flames have pitched at least one shutout. Kaylan Yoder (6-2, 1.95) leads CUSA with a .155 opponents batting average. Yoder is 4-0 with a 0.85 ERA in conference play this season. Paige Bachman is 7-1 with a 2.81 ERA and had 10 strikeouts last Saturday against UTEP. Danner Allen (2-1, 1.85) allowed just one run on two hits at Jax State, March 23. Tyler Oubre (3-0, 2.10) provides strong pitching depth as well.
