
Lady Flames’ 7th Inning Comeback Seals Series Sweep Over Bulldogs

RUSTON, La. - Liberty turned a 3-2 deficit into a 6-3 victory over Louisiana Tech with a four-run seventh-inning rally to complete a series sweep, Sunday at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field.
The Lady Flames improve to 41-10, 20-3 in Conference USA play. Liberty secured the CUSA regular-season title with its 9-3 win over LA Tech yesterday. The Bulldogs fall to 29-21, 14-10 in conference play with one week of league games remaining.

Liberty plays its final regular-season nonconference game on Wednesday at 6 p.m., heading to Charlottesville, Va., to take on Virginia at Palmer Park. The Lady Flames won the first meeting over Virginia this year, 4-3, with a two-run walk-off double by Brooke Roberts.

- For the second day in a row, Liberty battled back from a 3-0 deficit. The Lady Flames scored once in both the fourth and sixth.
- Trailing 3-2 in the top of the seventh, a fielding error with one out kept the door open for the Lady Flames. Rachel Roupe then walked to load the bases before Brynn McManus gave Liberty a 4-3 lead with a two-run double. The guests tacked on two more runs in the top half.
- Liberty outhit Louisiana Tech 7-3 for the game. The Bulldogs committed two errors, compared to one error by the Lady Flames.
- Elena Escobar (18-3) earned the win, improving to 11-0 in Conference USA games this season. She allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits, walking two and fanning five.
- Allie Floyd (20-11) drew the loss, yielding six runs (three earned) on seven hits, with five walks and four strikeouts.
- KK Madrey went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs scored, her fifth three-hit game and fifth three-steal game of the season. Paige Doerr batted 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two RBI. Brynn McManus (1-for-4) doubled, drove in two runs and scored once, while Rachel Craine went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI.
- For LA Tech, Reagan Marchant batted 1-for-2 with a homer, two RBI and one run scored, while Allie Furr scored twice.
- Liberty leads Louisiana Tech 9-0 in the all-time series, including 7-0 since joining Conference USA.
- The Lady Flames have now won all 16 conference series since joining Conference USA prior to the 2024 season. That includes eight series sweeps and eight 2-1 victories.
- Liberty has now earned six wins this season in which the team has trailed in the sixth inning or later. The Lady Flames came from behind to win all three games this weekend, giving them 17 total comeback wins for the season.
- The Lady Flames are the first CUSA team to win 20 or more conference games in a single season since Marshall went 20-4 in Conference USA play in 2017.
- Madrey has broken Katie Zavodny's (2013) single-season program record of 41.
- Madrey's 44 stolen bases are the most by a CUSA player since Madisyn Palmer had 48 stolen bases for FAU in 2019.
- The Lady Flames have set a new team single-season record, stealing 103 bases and counting this season. The previous record of 100 was set in 2018.
- Savannah Woodard went 0-for-4, snapping a streak in which she reached in 19 games in a row.
- Escobar's 18 wins this season are the most by a Lady Flame since Karlie Keeney won 27 games in 2023.
