
Joy Named to CUSA Men’s Golf All-Academic Team

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Ike Joy, Liberty's season stroke leader, is also being honored for his work in the classroom heading into next week's CUSA Men's Golf Championship.
Today, the league announced that Joy was one of five players named to the 2025 CUSA Men's Golf All-Academic team.
Joy completed his undergraduate degree from Liberty in criminal justice with a perfect 4.00 GPA. The redshirt junior is currently pursuing a master's degree in business.
The native of Denver, N.C., is enjoying his best season on the course for the Flames. He currently leads Liberty with a 71.29 scoring average, a figure that is nearly two strokes better than his scoring average during the 2022-23 (73.10) and 2023-24 (73.50) seasons.
Joy also leads Liberty with 12 rounds at par or better, seven sub-70 rounds and three top-10 finishes.
Joy posted Liberty's lowest 18-hole total of the season (65) during the second round of the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational in the fall. He finished the Hawaii hosted tournament with a career-best 14-under par 199 (68-65-66) to finished tied for fourth place.
This is the third time Joy has been honored by Conference USA this season. He has twice been named CUSA Men's Golfer of the Week (November 6 and March 12).
