DURHAM, N.C. – Liberty All-American pentathlete Meredith Engle is off to an impressive start in her first heptathlon competition in two years. Engle tallied her best-ever day one score (3,299) on Thursday at the Duke Invitational, putting her in fourth place through four events.
Engle, whose last heptathlon came at the 2023 ASUN Championships in Jacksonville, Fla. (May 11-12, 2023), recorded her best-ever marks within a heptathlon in three of four events on the day. These included a 14.12 in the 100 hurdles, at 43-5.25 shot put and a 25.69 200.
