Liberty Seeks Six-Game Winning Streak Hosting Two Matchups

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lady Flames seek their first six-game winning streak since 2019 when Liberty hosts Atlantic Sun foe Stetson (5-11) on Thursday at 12 p.m. and takes on American (3-3) on Saturday at 4 p.m. Thursday's contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ with both games from the Liberty Lacrosse Field.

Liberty is in the midst of a stretch of four consecutive home games in 10 days. The Lady Flames are coming off a pair of home victories with a 26-21 triumph over High Point on Feb. 26, and a 21-4 victory over Longwood on Saturday.

Liberty's four-game winning streak kicked off with a pair of wins in Richmond, Va. The squad topped VCU on Feb.15 and upset No. 20 Richmond 14-13, its highest-ranked win in program history, on Feb. 22

Thursday's contest will be Liberty's ASUN conference opener. The Lady Flames held a 3-3 record in ASUN play last season, including an 18-11 win at Stetson on March 29.

Katie Colavito was named the Atlantic Sun Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, highlighted by her 6 goal, 10 point and 14 draw control performance against High Point. The midfielder added a goal with five caused turnovers and three ground balls playing Longwood.

Attackers Mackenzie Lehman and Cami Merkel currently rank among the top-five goal scorers in Liberty program history. Lehman ranks No. 4 with 126 and Merkel sits at No. 5 with 116. The record is held between Brianna McCaffrey (2016-19) and Nina Dunay (2011-15), each with 128, followed by Morgan Becker (2011-15) with 127.
Lehman (126 goals) is two goals shy from tying the program record of 128 goals, three from sole possession of first place.
Katie Colavito currently has 92 total draw controls in her career. The midfielder currently ranks No. 10 in program history and could become the eighth Lady Flame all-time with 100 career draw controls.
After ranking No. 96 in the country with 11.72 draw controls per game last season, Liberty currently ranks No. 16 nationally with 16.00 per game.

The Lady Flames rank No. 1 in the country with 16.83 caused turnovers per game (101 total. Jenna Burrow leads the team and the ASUN, and ranks No. 9 nationally with 2.67 caused turnovers per game (16 total).
For her career, Lehman currently ranks No. 5 in the country among active players with 78 caused turnovers.
Liberty leads the ASUN and ranks No. 4 in the country with 22.67 ground balls per game (136 total). Burrow paces the team with 3.00 ground balls per game (18 total).
