
Liberty Defeats Aggies 4-1 to Wrap CUSA Weekend Set in Florida

MIAMI, Fla. – The Lady Flames (9-11, 3-1 CUSA) defeated New Mexico State (11-8, 1-2 CUSA) 4-1 to wrap up a two-match weekend in Miami, Fla. Liberty (9-11, 3-1 CUSA) fell to FIU 4-0 on Friday.
Liberty took the doubles point in tight matches on courts one and three. Daniella O'Neill and Maria Turchetto defeated Nadia Nemeth and Anna Pinaieva 6-4 on court one. Yu-Yun Chen and Celina Joseph won on court three 7-5 versus Dora Kurdi and Whitney Moon to secure the early advantage.
O'Neill earned a 2-0 afternoon, defeating Whitney Moon 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 3 singles match. She was preceded by Chen besting Lisa Zhu 6-2, 6-1 on court two. The Aggies returned to claim a singles point on court five as Anika Lemus fell 6-2, 6-3.
Liberty clinched the match-winning fourth point with a win in the No. 6 singles match. Joseph topped Dora Kurdi after a three-set tussle, 6-3, 1-6, 6-1. Yoanna Radulova and Turchetto's individual matches remained unfinished by the end of the match. Both Flames were leading their respectively.
