
Liberty Completes NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Liberty competed its participation at the 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, Saturday at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.
Sophomore Kamryn Cannings swam 48.77 in the 100 freestyle, tying for 51st place overall. Freshman Aly Bozzuto was disqualified while competing in the 200 breaststroke.

- During this week's four-day meet, the top 16 from morning prelims each day qualify for evening finals.
- Virginia's Gretchen Walsh, three-time defending national champion in the 100 free, swam the fastest prelim time, 45.19. Minna Abraham of USC swam 47.37, securing the last A Final spot. It took 47.88 to qualify for the B Final.
- Cannings competed heat of the 100 free, finishing in 48.77 A total of 74 swimmers competed in the 100 free this morning.
- Cannings' 48.77 today was the fastest 100 free time at NCAA Championships by a Lady Flame all-time.
- Bozzuto is the fourth Liberty freshman all-time to compete at the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, joining Jess Reinhardt (2013 – 100 fly, 200 fly), Payton Keiner (2018 – 100 back, 200 back) and Kamryn Cannings (2024 – 100 fly, 200 fly).
- This is the ninth time in 15 years of the program's history that at least one Lady Flame has been selected to compete in the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. The Lady Flames have had two All-America honorable mention finishers, in Brye Ravettine (13th in 50 free, 2012) and Jess Reinhardt (10th in 100 fly, 2014). All competitors at the cancelled 2020 NCAA Championships were named All-Americans, so Payton Keiner received All-American honors in 2020.
