
Liberty Sweeps Doubleheader from Princeton Saturday

In game one, starting pitcher Ben Blair, Joseph Webb and Garrett McLaughlin combined to hold an early Liberty lead. The Flames erupted with five runs in the third inning, highlighted by a three-run home run by designated hitter Anderson Fulk, to take a 6-0 advantage. McLauglin retired the lone batter he faced with the tying run on second base in the ninth inning to close out the victory for the Flames.
In game two, starting pitcher Caleb Lingenfelter, Josh Swink and Josh McCusker combined to pitch the second shutout of the season for the Flames. The trio held the Tigers to two hits, striking out 10 and walking two.
Liberty second baseman Cal Early had five hits in the doubleheader. The freshman had two hits and an RBI in game one. He went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored in game two.
Liberty takes the first three games of the four-game series and ups its record to 14-6 on the season. Princeton falls to 3-13.
