Lehman, Burrow Take Home ASUN Player of the Week Awards

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty attacker Mackenzie Lehman and defender Jenna Burrow were selected as the Atlantic Sun Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
The honors are the fifth and sixth selections of the season for the Lady Flames, leading the ASUN. Liberty has had a Player of the Week selection for four consecutive weeks. This is the second time that the Lady Flames have swept the awards after Ava Rajala and Burrow were honored on Feb. 18.
Lehman earns Liberty its third ASUN Offensive Player of the Week, joining Rajala and Kaite Colavito (March 3). Burrow secured Liberty its third Defensive Player of the Week award (Rachel Hines, Feb. 24) and her second of the season.
The attacker notched three goals and three assists in Liberty's ASUN season-opening 22-4 triumph over Stetson on Thursday. Her third goal secured Lehman as Liberty's all-time leading scorer in program history with her 129th goal in her fifth season at Liberty.
Lehman returned on Wednesday with a career-best seven-goal and nine-point (two assists) performance in a 22-13 victory over American on Saturday. She tied the single-game Liberty program record, joining Katy Pridemore (Presbyterian Apr. 12, 2015).
Burrow was all over the field last week, totaling eight ground balls and eight assists along with draw controls in two games. The junior recorded five caused turnovers and four ground balls in Saturday's victory against American.
The defender currently ranks No. 5 in the country with 3.00 caused turnovers per game (24 total). Burrow also ranks No. 14 nationally and is No. 2 in the ASUN with 3.25 ground balls per game (26 total).
Liberty (6-2) looks to extend its winning streak to seven games when it takes on Pitt on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The contest will be played at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa., and will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
