MIAMI, Fla. – Liberty won its fourth game in a row using a familiar recipe of balanced scoring, Saturday afternoon at FIU. Avery Mills (15 points) paced four Lady Flames in double figures as Liberty came away with a 73-57 triumph over the Panthers.
Liberty (19-6, 12-2 CUSA) became the first visiting team to win in its two-year head-to-head series with FIU, spanning four games. The Lady Flames won the battle between the conference's top two rebounding teams (34-28) and racked up 29 bench points.
FIU falls to 10-15 overall and 6-8 in conference play after losing just its second CUSA home tilt of the year. The Panthers shot only 36.5 percent (19-of-52) from the floor and committed 22 turnovers during the matinee.

- The Lady Flames hit their first five three-point attempts of the afternoon, including a pair by Asia Boone. Liberty built a 24-16 lead through 10 minutes, paced by Avery Mills' seven points off the bench.
- FIU stayed within striking distance early on by scoring seven points off Liberty's seven turnovers.
- Liberty broke things open with 12 straight points, holding the Panthers scoreless for more than seven and a half minutes. Brooke Moore closed out the surge with six consecutive points of her own, including a pair of free throws at the 1:58 mark which made it 39-19, Lady Flames.
- FIU then hit two late triples, cutting its deficit to 14 points (39-25) at the intermission.
- Liberty shot 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the field during the first 20 minutes, including 63.6 percent (7-of-11) from long range.
- Parris Atkins scored nine straight FIU points to close out the third period. However, Liberty added two points to its lead during the stanza overall and emerged with a 58-42 advantage.
