- In the first event of the night, just 0.43 separated first place (Maddie Foster of Queens, 4:53.65) and fourth place (Liberty's Shelby Kahn, 4:54.08). FGCU's Emma Bjornholdt chased down the pack to finish second in 4:53.87, just ahead of Liberty's Eden Troxell (4:53.91), who picked up her second career podium finish.
- In a lightning-quick 200 IM with two B cuts, both Queens' Abigail Zboran (1:56.06) and Liberty's Sydney Stricklin (1:57.50) smashed the previous conference record of 1:58.29, held by FGCU's Fanny Teijonsalo since 2016.
- The Lady Flames took 1-2 in the 50 free, both in NCAA B cut time. Kamryn Cannings won in a program-record 22.07, followed by teammate Aly Bozzuto in 22.09. Each of the first four finishers swam B cuts, as Queens' Ryley Heck went 22.25 and FGCU's Libby Russum, 22.33.
- Sophomore Shannon Icard earned her first career individual conference title, winning the one-meter diving with an NCAA Zone-qualifying score of 267.25. Maddie Freece claimed her eighth career conference podium finish with her second-place score of 255.80. Freece edged FGCU's Bailey Betzer, who scored 255.65 for third.
- Grace Shaw, who was diagnosed with and overcame cancer within the last year, swam a lifetime-best 4:56.02 in 500 free qualifying this morning. She competed as an exhibition swimmer and posted the fourth fastest time of any swimmer in the 500 prelims.
- The Lady Flames finished the session by placing second in the 200 medley relay. Just 0.29 separated first-place FGCU (1:37.58) from third-place Queens (1:37.87), with Liberty finishing second with 1:37.84.
- This is the fifth time that Liberty has competed at a conference championship meet at Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatic Center. The Lady Flames claimed their first (2014), third (2020) and sixth (2023) CCSA Championship titles and first ASUN Championship (2024) crown at this facility. Every time their conference meet has been held in Knoxville, the Lady Flames have won.
- Stricklin (1:57.50) broke Mikayla Herich's 200 IM program record of 1:59.34, which was set at the 2020 CCSA Championships, also in Knoxville. Kate Baker's 2:00.80 is good for sixth on the program's all-time top 10 list, while Malia Francis is now 10th with her 2:02.49 from tonight's B Final.
- Cannings (22.07) and Bozzuto (22.09) both broke the oldest remaining record in the program's record book. Brye Ravettine (22.19) held the 50 free record all the way from Feb. 16, 2012 until it was broken tonight.
- The Lady Flames' 200 medley relay time of 1:37.84 is good for second in program history, just 0.04 off of the program record of 1:37.80, which was set at the 2014 CCSA Championships, also held at Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
Tomorrow's action on day two of the 2025 ASUN Swimming & Diving Championships begins at 10 a.m. with exhibition heats of the 200 freestyle relay. Thursday's program will also feature the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, three-meter diving and 400 medley relay.
