LYNCHBURG, Va. – Looking to cement its spot at the top of Conference USA, Liberty (9-3-4, 5-0-2 CUSA) travels to take on Delaware (10-1-4, 3-1-2 CUSA) on Sunday. The contest is set for a noon start at Grant Stadium and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Liberty is coming off a 2-0 week at home, earning its fourth straight triumph with a 2-1 victory over Kennesaw State and a 5-0 triumph against Jacksonville State. The Lady Flames currently sit atop the CUSA standings with 14 points. The team has clinched a berth in the CUSA Women's Soccer Championship, hosted by Liberty from Nov. 2-7.
Ivy Garner was recognized as the CUSA Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after accounting for five goals (1g, 4a). Garner represented Liberty's third Player of the Week honor, with Liberty becoming the second team (WKU) to be represented in each of the three weekly awards.
Although Delaware is in its inaugural CUSA season, the two programs have been familiar with each other over the past few seasons. Liberty owns a 2-1 record since 2019, including a 2-1 triumph at home last season.
The Lady Flames look to continue a strong season on the road. Liberty boasts a 5-0-2 record away from Lynchburg this season, including a 2-0-1 CUSA mark.
