Women’s Tennis Face Tests at ITA Atlantic Regional

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty women's tennis team prepares to compete at the ITA Atlantic Regional in Blacksburg, Va. The six-day event, hosted by Virginia Tech, consists of 23 programs from the ITA Atlantic Region.
Liberty will send six of its eight athlete roster to the event. The tournament is the Flames' third event of the fall season, following the Jimmy Powell Invitational (Sept. 19-20) and the Martha Thorne Invite (Oct. 3-5).
The event begins with a singles qualifying round with athletes needing two victories to advance to the main draw. Athletes will compete in both singles and doubles throughout the event. All players are guaranteed at least two singles matches.
The finalists in both singles and doubles qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships later this fall.

- Liberty owns an overall 15-15 singles record and a 9-6 doubles mark in two events this fall.
- Yoanna Radulova paces the team with a 5-3 singles record in the early fall season. She will be the only Lady Flame to automatically qualify for the main draw of the singles bracket.
- Transfer addition, Candy Wai impressed in her Liberty debut with a 2-1 singles mark and a 3-0 doubles record (Aranai Martinez) at the Martha Thorne Invite.
