
Liberty Begins Closing Stretch of Fall Season at The Bryson Invitational

The Flames will close out their fall tournament schedule with a pair of events over the next eight days, starting with The Bryson Invitational.

The second of two new events on Liberty's fall schedule, The Bryson Invitational is hosted by the Matt Bryson Foundation. The three-day event gets underway on Monday morning from the Daniel Island Club โ Ralston Creek Course (par 72, 7,446 yards) in Charleston, S.C.

The mission of the Matt Bryson Foundation is to positively invest in the lives of collegiate student-athletes competing in the sport of golf. The focus of the foundation is to be a sound resource for the development and mentorship of collegiate golfers.

Following the completion of The Bryson Invitational, Liberty will have a quick turnaround to get ready for its final event of the fall season โ the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational (Vero Beach, Fla. โ Quail Valley Club โ Oct. 19-20).

The Flames have posted a pair of top-10 finishes during the first half of their fall four-tournament slate. Liberty finished in sixth place at Duke's Rod Myers Invitational (Sept. 5-7) and in eighth place at South Carolina's Bryan Bros Collegiate (Sept. 28-29).

Senior Josh Ryan has paced the Flames during the first two events of the season, posting a pair of top-20 finishes. He has a 70.67 stroke average on the year and has played 4-of-6 rounds under par.

Michael Lugiano ranks second on Liberty's roster with a 71.33 season stroke average, an average aided by a career-low 5-under par 66 during the second round of the Bryan Bros Collegiate.
