
Liberty Ignites for Five in Shutout Victory over Jacksonville State

Garner kicked off the scoring in the 20th minute. The forward forced a turnover, then drove into the penalty area. The senior sent a shot right beside a sliding goalkeeper for her CUSA-leading eighth goal of the season.

Liberty dominated possession throughout the game. The Lady Flames unleashed a season-high 29 shots while allowing just one from the Gamecocks.
A few minutes after Garner's tally, midfielder Gabby Miranda netted her second goal of the season. She received a low cross from Garner, which the junior lobbed over a lunging goalkeeper.

The Lady Flames added its third goal of the game courtesy of Isabella Wedemeyer in the 32nd minute. The sophomore stole the ball before driving to the edge of the penalty area. The midfielder caught the goalkeeper flat-footed, sending a shot to the other side of the net.
At the end of the half, Liberty held a 19-0 edge in shots while earning eight corner attempts.

Liberty kept the scoring going in the 65th minute. Garner sent in a cross from the edge of the penalty area to the corner of the penalty area. She found Briana Myers, who sent in a pristine header to the center of the goal. The score was the midfielder's third of the season.
The Lady Flames added an exclamation point in the 87th minute. After earning its 15th corner of the game, Liberty converted on the set piece. Carly Keene sent a ball into the middle of the field, finding a cutting Keelyn Eslinger for a sharp header. The goal was the freshman forward's first career goal.
Liberty improves to 4-3-2 at home this season with one game remaining.

- Five goals are the most in a single game for Liberty since they scored six times at George Mason last season.
- Liberty outshot Jacksonville State 29-1. Both tallies achieve season-best marks in shots and shots allowed. They also earned 16 shots on goal, one shy of a season-high (17 in a 4-1 win over Queens).
- Ivy Garner led all players with six shots (three on goal) followed by Miranda with five (two on goal).
- The Lady Flames earned 15 corner attempts on Saturday night, which is the most in a single game since 2013 when Liberty registered 17 in a 2-0 victory over VMI.
