
Liberty to Face No. 4 Clemson Tuesday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames will play their final non-conference game of the regular season Tuesday. The Flames will travel to Clemson, S.C., for a match against the No. 4 ranked and 2023 National Champion Clemson Tigers at Historic Riggs Field. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Flames (2-2-1) return to the pitch since falling at James Madison 2-0 on Sept. 14. Liberty's match against Presbyterian was canceled due to inclement weather last Wednesday.
The Flames have never met Clemson (4-1-2) on the soccer field. The Tigers, the defending national champions, are the highest-ranked team Liberty has faced since it fell to No. 2 North Carolina at Osborne Stadium 2-0 on Oct. 12, 2010.

- Senior forward Michael Huss leads the OVC with four goals.
- Senior Luke Eberle is second on the Flames in points and goals. The midfielder has two goals and an assist for five points. The senior is second in the OVC by averaging 1.25 points per game.
- Nine different Flames have scored a goal this season. Freshmen Aidan Morrison and Tyee Allen each scored their first collegiate goal in Liberty's 5-2 victory at USC Upstate on Sept. 6. Senior defender Skyler Strickler joined the two freshmen with his first college goal at USC Upstate.
- The midfielder Gabe Findley is tied for second in the OVC with three assists.
- Leo Conneh, who led the OVC with seven assists last season, has two assists in 2024.
- Goalkeeper Owen Moore made a career-high eight saves at James Madison. It eclipsed his previous high of seven saves in a 2-1 win at Navy on Sept. 3, 2023.
- Moore has started every game this season for the Flames. The junior has posted a 1.60 goals-against average and a .692 save percentage. He has recorded a shutout.
