
Liberty and HCU Play to a Scoreless Tie

HOUSTON, TEXAS – The Liberty Flames and the Houston Christian Huskies played to a scoreless draw Thursday evening in a key Ohio Valley Conference match at Sorrels Field.
Liberty entered the contest with 15 points and in second place in the OVC standings, two points ahead of HCU, which entered the match with 13 points.
Defensive play by each team limited shot attempts throughout the contest. The Flames held the host Huskies to six shots, while HCU allowed Liberty 12 shots during the 90 minutes.
  
Liberty ups its record to 4-1-4 in the OVC and 8-3-6 overall. Houston Christian moves to 4-3-2 in the OVC and 9-5-2 overall. With the tie, Liberty, 16 points, remains two points ahead of HCU, 14 points, in the OVC standings for second place with one game left in the regular season. The second-place finisher in the OVC standings earns a bye into the semifinals of the OVC Men's Soccer Tournament.
