LYNCHBURG, VA. – Liberty forward Leo Conneh and defender Casey McCarthy have been selected to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches All-North Region third team. The all-region teams were announced today.
Conneh and McCarthy become the first Flames to be named to an all-region team since midfielder Gabe Findley was selected to the 2023 All-North Region second team.
The two Flames each garnered Ohio Valley All-Conference second team honors and were selected to the OVC All-Tournament this season. In addition, Conneh and McCarthy were two of four Flames to start all 20 games for Liberty, which finished 9-5-6 and advanced to the OVC Semifinals in 2025.
Conneh collected his first all-conference selection this past season. The junior scored a career-high six goals and had two assists to finish 2025 with a career-high 14 points. He led the Flames with 40 shots and 19 shots on goal.
Conneh finished the regular season tied for fifth in goals and tied for ninth in points in the OVC. The Anoka, Minn., native scored the lone goal in Liberty's 1-0 victory over 2025 OVC Champion Lindenwood to knock the Lions from the ranks of the unbeaten on Oct. 12 at Osborne Stadium.
After transferring to Liberty for his senior season, McCarthy was also selected to his first all-conference team this season. The senior defender played over 1,781 minutes, the most played by a Flames field player, and served as Liberty's team captain in 2025. The lynchpin of the Flames' defense, the center back played the full 90 minutes 18 times. The Brighton, Mich., native had three assists during the season and was named to the CSC Academic All-District team for the third consecutive year.
