
Men’s Soccer Falls on Late Goal to Georgia State 2-1

LYNCHBURG, VA. – In a hard-fought match Sunday afternoon at Osborne Stadium, the Georgia State Panthers broke a 1-1 tie with a goal during the 73rd minute to edge the Liberty Flames 2-1.
After a scoreless first half, Liberty struck for the game's first and its only goal when Georgia State goalkeeper Josh Hangi misplayed a ball inside the six-yard box less than five minutes into the second half. Forward Gora Gora pushed the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
With each team pressing on the attacking end throughout the second half, the Panthers not only found the equalizer but the go-ahead goal.
Liberty had several shot attempts during the final 15 minutes of play but could not tie the contest.
The Flames drop to 1-1-1 on the season. The Panthers move to 1-1-1.
