Turning Point
Liberty and Indiana were knotted at 0-0 over 50 minutes into the game until the Lady Flames' Tuti Dell Anna scored the first goal of the season. Dell Anna's redirect on a penalty corner, assisted by Dara Semmartin, provided a one-goal Liberty edge at the 50:24 mark.
The Liberty defense thwarted an Indiana penalty corner with just over a minute remaining in regulation, but the Hoosiers drew one more penalty corner with 4.1 seconds left. Indiana converted on that, as Sofia Arrebola Garcia sent the game to overtime with a goal with no time left on the clock.
In the first overtime, the Lady Flames' defensive unit stopped two Indiana penalty corners. Later in the first overtime and into the early portion of the second overtime, Liberty played with a two-player advantage due to two Hoosiers yellow cards.
Just over midway through the second overtime session, Liberty's Dell Anna evaded three Hoosiers defenders, entered the circle on the right side and sent a pass to Murphy. Murphy scored from the right side with a deflection into the left side of the cage at the 75:27 mark for the 2-1 win.
