FARMVILLE, Va. – The Liberty Flames and the Longwood Lancers battled to a 2-2 tie Monday evening at Longwood Athletics Complex.
After all four goals came between the eighth and 20th minute, the contest turned into a defensive battle with neither the Flames nor the Lancers able to find another goal.
Midfielder Luke Eberle tied the contest at 1-1, while Michael Huss knotted the game at 2-2 during the 20th minute. After Huss' goal, neither team registered a shot on goal for the rest of the contest.
Liberty allowed only three shots on goal in the contest while Longwood yielded only four shots on goal.
Liberty drops to 1-0-1 on the season. Longwood also falls to 0-1-1 on the year.
