- Liberty outhit Louisiana Tech 5-2 for the game. The Lady Flames left four runners on base, while the Bulldogs stranded three.
- Kaylan Yoder (8-5) pitched her second shutout of the series and fourth on the season, allowing just two hits and one walk. She struck out eight today. For the weekend, she went 2-0 with two shutouts, three hits allowed, 16 strikeouts and two walks in 14 innings pitched.
- Brook Melnychuk (7-6) drew the loss, allowing one run on three hits, walking one and striking out one in two innings as the starter. Relief pitcher Allie Floyd yielded one run on two hits, walking one and fanning two in four innings.
- KK Madrey went 2-for-2 with one RBI, one run scored and a sacrifice fly for Liberty. Rachel Craine batted 1-for-2 with one RBI, while Sierra Kersten went 1-for-2 with a double.Â
- Liberty leads Louisiana Tech 5-0 in the all-time softball series. The Lady Flames defeated the Bulldogs in both of their previous meetings in 2016.
- This is the fourth time in program history that the Lady Flames have held an opponent scoreless throughout an entire three-game conference series. The last time was April 17-18, 2021, when Liberty shut out Lipscomb three straight times in an away ASUN series.
- Louisiana Tech entered the series batting .296 on the season, averaging 5.45 runs per game.
- Yoder is just the third Lady Flame all-time to toss two complete-game shutouts in a single conference series. The other two were Emily Kirby (three-hitters at Lipscomb on both April 17-18, 2021) and Tiffani Smith (one-hitter April 16, 2010; two-hitter April 17, 2010) at Gardner-Webb.
- Madrey extended her hitting streak to eight games. She has hits in each of her last three at bats and reached base safely in five straight plate appearances prior to her sixth-inning sacrifice fly. Â
- Liberty is now 12-2 at home this season, with more than half (7-of-12) of those victories coming via shutout. Seven out of Liberty's eight shutouts this year have come at Liberty Softball Stadium. Â
