
Liberty Embarks on Two-Game Road Trip Facing San Diego State, Arizona State

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Lady Flames lacrosse team embarks on a West Coast trip, taking on San Diego State Monday and facing Arizona State on Wednesday.
Liberty (2-4) is set to face San Diego State (1-6) at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT at the Aztec Lacrosse Field. The Lady Flames will match up against Arizona State (3-3) at 2 p.m. ET/ 11 a.m. MT at the Sun Devil Lacrosse Stadium.
Liberty seeks to build off a pivotal 20-17 home victory over Pitt on Wednesday. Liberty's attackers showed off their production, as six Lady Flames recorded at least three points in the contest.
The Lady Flames lead the country with 16.17 caused turnovers per game and rank No. 3 in the nation in total caused turnovers with 97. Liberty also ranks No. 5 in the nation with 22.17 ground balls per game.
Liberty looks for consistent production from its goalkeepers across the road trip. In Wednesday's victory over Pitt, three goalkeepers received time in net, with Taylor Gallarello (1-1) getting the start.
Mackenzie Lehman, the Conference USA Preseason Midfielder of the Year, has stepped up for Liberty in her senior season. Lehman leads the team with 15 goals and is tied for second on the team with five assists (20 points). The senior also leads the squad with 27 draw controls and 16 caused turnovers (tied for most on team).

- Liberty looks to earn its first road victory of 2024. The Lady Flames traveled to No. 6 North Carolina, a 19-6 loss on Feb. 13, for their only road game this season. Liberty collected a 6-5 road record in 2023.
- Despite the 2-4 record, there is optimism in the Lady Flames team in 2024. Liberty has faced a gauntlet of ranked opponents, including No. 16 Virginia (Feb. 9), No. 6 North Carolina (Feb. 13), No. 18 Richmond (Feb. 24) and Duke (Feb. 27).
- Liberty's defense has applied tough pressure all spring, leading the country with 16.17 caused turnovers per game. Liberty's midfielders have stepped up in key defensive roles with Lehman (16) and Katie Colavito (15) leading the way for the team. Madeleine Klunder (14) and Katelyn Weissend (10) lead the way for the defensive group.
- Liberty's sophomore group continues to impress in 2024. - The Lady Flames enjoyed their most productive game from free-position attempts on Wednesday. Liberty converted on 7-of-10 attempts to vault its free-position percentage from .323 last week to .415 after the game.
