
Liberty Cruises Past Southern Indiana 5-0

For the second consecutive game, Liberty used solid defensive play by its backline led by defender Carlos Trott and relentless pressure on the offensive end to come away with a clean sheet. The Flames defeated Eastern Illinois 2-0 at Osborne Stadium on Thursday evening.
OVC-leading goal scorer Michael Huss netted his ninth and 10th goals of 2024 and assisted on two others in the contest for six points. Leo Conneh, Gabe Findley and Sam Farner also scored for the Flames.
Liberty took a 2-0 lead into the halftime. Huss scored the game's first goal off a failed clearing attempt by Southern Indiana during the third minute and added to their lead during the 22nd minute when Leo Conneh received a crossing pass from Huss and scored.
The Flames tacked on three more in the second half. Huss and Findley netted goals less than four minutes apart during the 65th and 69th minutes.
With back-to-back victories, Liberty moves to 5-2 in the OVC and 7-5-1 overall. Southern Indiana drops to 1-5-1 in conference and 2-12-1 overall.

- Blake Frazen received his first start of the season goal of the Flames and played the entire 90 minutes. He made two saves. Eagles goalkeeper Andrew Klott recorded 10 saves during 72 minutes in the goal. Braden Matthews played the final 18 minutes in the Southern Indiana net.
- Liberty moves to 4-1 at Osborne Stadium this season.
Next Up
Liberty will travel to St. Charles, Mo., for their final road match of the 2024 regular season. The Flames will face the Lindenwood Lions in an OVC Friday. Match time at Hunter Stadium is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST.
