
Hatters Rally for 5-4 Win over Flames

The Stetson Hatters scored five runs in the sixth inning for a come-from-behind win over the Liberty Flames in a seven-inning game, Sunday afternoon at Melching Field at Conrad Park.
The Flames built a lead for the second straight game, only to see it evaporate. Liberty jumped out to a 4-0 advantage behind right-hander Mikey Tepper before the bottom of the sixth inning.
Center fielder Jaylen Guy and third baseman Cam Foster each had two hits in the contest for the Flames. Each player scored a run.
Liberty drops its fourth straight game. The Flames fall to 10-11 in the ASUN and 19-24 overall. Stetson sweeps the three-game series, improving to 15-6 in ASUN play and 27-17 overall.

Turning Point
After taking a one-run lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, Stetson had to hold off the Flames in the seventh for the victory. With one out, Guy singled. Two batters later, Foster walked to move Guy, the tying run, into scoring position at second base. However, Hatters reliever Gonzalez was able to strike out the next Flame to end the threat and seal the victory.

- Stetson’s Melching Field at Conrad Park will be the 2023 ASUN Baseball Championship site. The top eight teams in the conference will qualify for the tournament scheduled for May 23-27.
- Guy collected his team-leading 14th multi-hit game of 2023 in the contest.
